About Me
Welcome to my website!
Many of you who have seen my dolls on eBay might wonder who I am. This website gives me an opportunity to introduce myself.
My doll-making background is a little surprising because I am not a doll-making instructor or award winning artist. I was a nurse who happened to love dolls just as you do.
A Japanese born and raised in Japan, I met my wonderful American husband in 1989.
We were married and had a son there. After we moved to Reno in 1997, I was busy establishing my new life in this new country and didn't think about dolls till recently.
When I was a little girl, I always had many dolls because I was the only girl in my family. Dolls were my sisters and my friends. As I grew older I gradually forgot about dolls.
One day I saw a beautiful little angel doll at a gift shop in the hospital where I was working.
That was the beginning of my doll collecting days. I spent a lot of my time searching for just the perfect doll, but I realized that it was very hard to find. By chance, I found there was a local doll-making class, so I signed up in 2000. That was the start of my doll making.
At first, I was only interested in modern dolls and did not know anything about antique dolls. One day as I was looking through doll books at my doll teacher's house I spotted a picture of a doll that fascinated me.
It was a picture of a Bru Jne Doll. When I saw her beautiful face and lavish costume, I could not believe she was more than 100 years old!
I wanted to make a doll just like her, but I didn't know much about history of the Bru dolls. So, I gathered information from books, the internet, anything to give me an idea about the dolls. I purchased a Bru mold and kiln to start making my own Bru Jne dolls, but it wasn't very easy. It's very difficult to capture that certain look. I kept making more Bru's till I was satisfied. Then I realized I was running out of space in my house with all those dolls. As a result, in the spring of 2004, I decided to list my dolls on eBay to find a good home for them. I still remember that exciting moment when I sold my first doll!
I had no idea what people would think about my dolls because I had never entered my dolls in any competitions. With regard to doll making, I'm mostly self taught: I make dolls on my days off between my full time job as a nurse. It's a kind of therapy to me to create dolls after working long, stressful hours.
Doll making takes me back to my childhood when I didn't have to worry about anything and just dreamed about fairly tales and beautiful places I'd never been.....

All my dolls seem as if they're my own children. They are made with lots of love and filled with dreams.
I simply want to share that love of dolls with other people who love dolls!
If one of my dolls can make your days happier, and put a smile on your face, then I will have been successful. I see doll making just as I see nursing, as a way to provide happiness.
Just as each of us has a unique face, all my dolls are one of a kind: I can not create exactly the same face twice.
However, I can make dolls that are very similar to those that I have made in the past. Since I now have a website to introduce the girls I have created, you can contact me if you want me to make a similar doll for you.

When you buy one of my creations, you are not only getting a beautiful doll, but you are adding a new family member.
I hope you keep my dolls as a part of your family and pass them down to future generations.
I will continue to work to improve my doll making skills and I'd love to get your input about my work, or exchange doll stories with you.
I hope this website can connect us to find joy through our common love of dolls!
