Frequently asked questions
Q : Are any of the dolls on your site available?
A : Most of my dolls shown on my website are sold and I post them as samples.
I have been taking custom doll orders only and I don't usually have any finished dolls available.
Q : How much do your dolls cost?
A : Doll prices vary depending on how they are customized, so please email me at bebesbysayuri@hotamil.com to get a quote.
I take orders for both dressed and non-dressed dolls.
Q : How do I place an order?
A : Just email me at bebesbysayuri@hotmail.com
I will return your email right away to discuss ordering details.
Q : How long does it takes to get my doll?
A : The waiting period is usually 6 months to one year, and it takes about 8 weeks to complete a dressed doll and 6 weeks for an undressed doll.
It does not cost anything to reserve a spot in advance, so please contact me early if you are interested in ordering a doll.
Q : What should I do if I preordered a doll in advance, but I have to cancel my order?
A : Since the waiting period is so long, you can cancel your order at any time as long as you have not paid a deposit.
However, please notify me in advance so that I can move up the next order.
Also please notify when you change your email address or contact information.
Your order will be canceled automatically if I can't reach you when your turn comes up.
Q : How do I pay for my doll?
A : I accept personal checks, money orders, and PayPal for US customers and PayPal or international money order for international customers. I do not take cashiers checks.
A deposit (30%) is required one month before I start making the doll, and the rest is due when the doll is completed.
Please note that deposit is non-refundable.
Q : Do you have layaway plan ?
A : Yes, I can do layaway up to four months, but payments are non-refundable.
Q : In what ways can I customize my doll?
A : You can choose eye color and type (brand, antique, etc ..) wig color and style, dress style and fabric colors, body type, paint of bisque including skin colors (paler or pinker),
facial expressions including eye cut size, color of eyebrows, shape of lips, etc...
The best way for me to understand what kind of doll you want is to send me pictures of dolls you want me to copy. The pictures don't have to be of my dolls.
I can paint a doll similar to an antique doll. The same applies for the dress. I can make a dress similar to an antique dress.
Q : What kind of body do you use for your dolls?
A : I make Chevrot style leather bodies for my Bru dolls.
They have internal metal hip joints and granulated cork stuffing in the torso. The outside is leather usually painted to give it an aged look.
Only Brevete bodies are outsourced, but they will have the same antique- finished leather.
I make my own composition bodies for other French dolls. I try to choose the correct body style and arms (straight wrists or jointed wrists) for each doll.
The bodies also have antique-finished paint, so only parts of the bodies are stained.
