When I think about dress for Bru doll with Chevrot body, I often want a dress with wide chest openings with narrow waist. I like this special Bru to have an extra fabulous look so I will be using two different shades of blue silk and point de gaze lace that I was saving for a special doll.

シェブローボデイーBru嬢のドレスを作るときに私がまず必ず考えることは”襟ぐりが大きく開いていて、ウェストがキュッとしまったデザイン”です。特に今回製作中のBru嬢はアンテイークボデイーなので、もっともゴージャスに見えるような素的なデザインのドレスを作ってあげたいので、色が違った二色のブルーのシルクに、デリケートな模様が入ったポワンドガーズのアンティークレースをふんだんに使って制作してみたいと思います。

I already made a jacket with base design and I am playing with lace and fabrics to find final look of the dress. I often temporary place them on the doll to see which lace looks good or how front panel design should be … You just never know what combination would look the best till you try them on the actual doll. This is very time consuming process but at the same time the most fun part of the dress making.

ベースになるジャケット部分はすでに作ってあるので、その上にレースや生地をいろいろのせて、どの組み合わせが一番しっくりいくかバランスを見ながら最終的なデザインを決めて行きます。というのも、実際にお人形と合わせてみないとしっくり来ないケースが多々あるので、はじめから終わりまですべて決まっているデザインではなく、アドリブ式で決めていく方法が私は好きです。この方法は時間がかかりますが、いろいろなレースや布地を合わせていく過程が実は一番楽しかったりするんですよね。

マチ針で布やレースを仮留めしてみて、とりあえずこんな感じかな？という形が出来ました。
