I painted Bru head’s skin tone so far. The first skin tone did not come out dark enough to match antique shoulder plate so I fired again with second coat. The color came out pretty close this time. It’s hard to see the differences on pictures so I am not sure if you can tell….

Bruヘッドの肌色の絵付けをしました。一回目の絵付けでは、アンテイークのショルダープレートい比べて色がまだ薄かったので、更にもう一度色を重ねて焼成しました。今回はずいぶん近い色合いになりました。アンテイークのビスクは現代物のビスクに比べてとても青白く、仮に同じ色の肌色を塗ったとしても出来上がりの色合いが微妙に違ってきます。なので、100％同じ色にすることはほとんど不可能に近いのですが、今回はまずまずの出来です。画像だと微妙な色の違いはわかりにくいと思いますが、とりあえず載せてみますね。

I started working on my next doll that I am taking to Tokyo with me this fall.  She will be 19 inch Bru Jne 11 with antique Chevrot body. I just finished cleaning head and she is ready for bisque firing.

東京へ一緒に連れて行く作品のヘッド制作に取り掛かりました。次の作品はアンテイークのシェブローボデイー付き19インチのBru Jne11です。磨きの段階が終わり、次はビスク焼成です。

Her eyes also will be antique. They are hard- to- find spiral threaded blue eyes.

グラスアイはとっておきのこのアンテイークブルーアイ、しかも見つけるのがすごく難しいスパイラルアイです。

I am thinking to use this beautiful cobalt blue antique silk bodice to make her dress. Look at these tiny intricate metal buttons! I am so lucky to find rows of same buttons still attached on the dress. They are perfect size for doll dress!

この娘のドレスには、最近手に入れたこの素晴らしいコバルトブルーのアンテイークシルクジャケットを使おうと思います。しかも、ボーナスに、手の込んだ小さいメタルボタンがたくさん付いていて、まさにお宝の山です。これらのボタンはドール用のドレスにぴったりのサイズです。

Just about a year ago, I held my first lunch meeting with my doll friends in beautiful London. To be able to meet with online friends is a very special experience and I like to continue that tradition this year again!  I am going to visit Japan this fall and I will be holding lunch meeting in Tokyo with my Japanese doll friends. I was not sure if anyone would want to come see me but I received more than 10 responses in matter of a day shortly after I made an announcement. Thank you sooooo much to doll enthusiasts in my home country! I will be making Bru Jne doll with antique Chevrot body as my next project and bringing her to Tokyo with me. We will have a little workshop of studying how antique Chevrot body is constructed and talk about doll dress making. ( Same theme as last year’s lunch meeting) I just can’t wait for November to come, but wait, I have to make a doll first !

ちょうど一年前の今頃、ロンドンで初めてのランチミーテイングを開きました。ネットでしか面識の無いお友達と実際に会えるということは、私にとってはこの上ない素晴らしい体験です。今年もぜひそのトラデイションを続けたいと思い、秋に帰国する際に東京でランチミーテイングを開くことにしました。私にわざわざ会いに来たいなどと言ってくれる人がいるかどうかちょっと不安だったので、まずは希望者を募ってみたところ、1日足らずで10人以上の方から参加希望のご連絡をいただきました。日本の皆様、ありがとうございます!!　　今回も前回と同様、アンテイークのシェブローボデイーを使って制作した私の作品を見ながら、オリジナルのボデイーはどのように作られているのかを説明したり、ドールドレス制作のコツなどについてお話したいと思います。（今回は日本語なので嬉いです～～）といってもかしこまった物ではなく、懇親会のようなものと考えてください。11月が今から待ち遠しいです。おっと、でもその前に、まずは持って行く作品を作らねば、ですね。

10人程度の少人数を考えていましたが、すでにそれに近い数の希望者がでましたので、さっそく企画したいと思います。
日程としては11月7日の土曜日を考えてます。
場所につきましては10月までには皆さんにお知らせできると思います。

日本の皆さん、今年は11月に日本へ帰国する予定です。今回は東京に一週間ほど滞在するので、去年ロンドンで行ったようなランチミーティングを企画しようかと思っています。
内容としては、ランチを食べながらアンテイークシェブローボデイを使って制作した私のBruJneでシェブローボデイの構造を勉強したり、アンテイークっぽいドレスの作り方などを説明したり、と言うような事を考えています。
参加費は無料で、ご自分のランチ代を負担していただくだけです。
オフ会の延長みたいに気軽な感じで、皆さんとお会いできたらと思っています。

If you have soft spot for ethnic doll, you are going to enjoy my newest creation 17 inch Black Bru Jne  reproduction doll.  I don’t make ethnic Bru very often but when I do, I want to make sure she is extra special.  This Black Bru is very special because she has an antique black kid body and antique brown PW eyes. These antique materials are extremely hard to find and I am very happy that I was able to put them together to create this one- of- a- kind doll.

もしエスニックドールが特に好き！という方がいらっしゃったら、今回の新作17インチブラックBru嬢をとても楽しんでいただけるのではないかと思います。私はエスニックBruはめったに作りませんが、作るときは特別な娘になるよう心がけています。今回のブラックBru嬢はアンテイークのブラックキッドボデイーとアンテイークの茶目スパイラルスレッドアイという、とても手に入りにくいレアな材料を使った特別な一点物の作品です。

I painted her bisque darker than Mulatto Bru since she is a black doll.  Her caramel brown eyes and skin tone are almost the same color.

今回のBru嬢はブラックドールということで、ムラトーよりは濃い目に肌色の絵付けをしました。肌の色とカラメル色のアンテイークアイとは、ほとんど同じ色合いです。

Her dress is a classic Bru style drop waist dress. I think this design fits perfectly on plump Bru kid body. I used antique silk fabric with unique pattern for her jacket. This fabric did not fit on any other dolls I have made in the past and it was sitting in my closet for a long time. But it looks perfect on this Black Bru so I believe it was meant to be.

ウエストがぽっちゃりしたタイプのBruキッドボデイーには、やはり定番のローウェストのデザインが一番ぴったりくると思います。ジャケット部分に使われたアンテイークのシルク地は、かわった柄だけに今まで使える作品が無く、ずっとクローゼットの中に眠っていました。今回このブラックBruに合わせてみたところぴったりだったので、きっと彼女のために出番を待っていたのだと思います。

Back side of the jacket has puffed up bustle.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　  ジャケット後ろ部分には膨らみのあるバッスルスタイルのデザインを取り入れました。

The dress opens up from one side and has hook-and-eye closure. The actual color of the skirt and front panel is teal green.

ドレスは片側から全開できるようになっていて、フックアンドアイで留めるようになっています。フロントパネルとスカート地は、他の画像では良くわかりませんが深い緑色です。

Base of the bonnet is a straw hat and the rest is decorated with antique silk ribbons and vintage millinery flowers.

ボネットのベースはムギワラ帽子です。アンテイークのシルクリボンや、ビンテージの布花で飾り付けました。

Bru undergarment and shoes. These lovely chemise and drawers are made with antique cotton batiste and lace, accented with salmon pink ribbons. Bru style leather shoes are also hand made by me.

下着はすべてアンテイークの綿ローンとレースでできていて、アクセントにサーモンピンクのリボンをあしらいました。このタイプのデザインは、ローウェストのドレスと相性がいいです。靴は黒い革製で、これも私の手作りです。

Her body is an antique black Bru kid body. Both arms and shoulder plate are my reproductions to match antique part of the body. Her kidskin lags have extensive patching repair due to fragile old leather. Her wig is a black mohair and I made the wig this time.

ボデイーは珍しいブラックBru用のキッドボデイーです。腕とショルダープレートはアンテークの胴体とマッチするように私が作りました。足部分は古い革がかなり弱っているため、たくさんの補強が施されています。ウィッグは黒毛のモヘアウィッグで、今回は私が作りました。
