The WDD Show & Sale event on May 4th was a huge success despite the weather.

Thank you so much to the people who came to see us in the pouring rain.

I was able to meet many followers of my dolls and that was the best part of the show. I only do very few public events so meeting customers and followers in person means a lot to me. Also reuniting old doll friends, meeting new doll friends are another best part of attending doll shows. My son came as my helper and he was a great help! We really enjoyed the event. Driving over I-80 Donner Pass was a little concerning because late season snow storms dropped 1-2 feet of snow on the mountain while we were in California. We stayed overnight at the hotel and we stopped by an antique mall on the way back home the next day to wait for the road to dry out at mountain.. The road was clear with snow by the time we hit the summit so we made home safely. It was a short but very meaningful trip.

Both of my dolls – 11″ Jumeau and All Bisque Kestner found a new home at the show.

カリフォルニアでのドールショウを無事に終えて帰宅しました。現地では当日大雨が降って客足が心配されたのですが、にもかかわらずたくさんの方が来場してくださり、本当に良いイベントとなりました。おかげさまで私が連れて行ったジュモウとオールビスクケスナ―は、お迎え先が決まりました。　私のフォロワーさん達に実際にお目にかかる事が出来、さらに新しいデイ―ラーさん達ともお知り合いになることができたりと、今回のドールショウもとても実りあるものでした。準備が重労働なので私は公のイベントにはあまり参加しませんが、体調が許す範囲でこれからも、ちょこちょこ参加させていただきたいと思います。ちなみに今回は息子がヘルプに入ってくれて、車も運転してくれとても助かりました。カリフォルニアへ行くには、シエラネバダ山脈の峠を越えていかなければならないのですが、たまたまショウの当日峠では大雪が降って帰りの道中が心配されたのですが、途中アンティークモールに寄ったりして道路の雪が解けるまで待って、次の日の夕方無事に帰宅しました。

I am resuming dress making for 14” Bru doll. The corset is finally complete, and I’m ready to start working on the Bru dress.

すっかり体調が元に戻ったので、冬からやりかけだったBru嬢制作を再開しました。 途中でストップしていたコルセットを完成させ、これからドレス作ります。

I am truly grateful for all the thoughtful get well messages I received last week. It has been a challenging time, but with each passing day, I am recovering more and more.

In fact, I was finally able to complete my 11-inch Jumeau doll after much anticipation!

Although I missed out on the Sacramento show over the weekend, I’m excited to announce that I will be attending the Pleasanton CA show on May 4th (Saturday) thanks to Mary Senko who kindly offered me this opportunity.

I will be bringing this little Jumeau and All Bisque Kestner with blue boots with me.

Look forward to meeting lots of people in Pleasanton in May!

先週欠席したドールショウですが、主催者さんのご配慮で5月のショウに参加させて頂く事になりました 怪我の回復も順調で、ミレットジュモウをようやく仕上げる事が出来ました。 オールビスクケスナーと一緒に連れていきます。小さいサイズのジュモウならではの、ドレスのスカートバッスル部分ががモッコリしている姿が凄く好きです。

With less than 10 days until the doll show, I am working on finishing 11 inch Jumeau’s dress and creating a lace bonnet at the same time. A beautiful lace bonnet must have lots of lace and ribbons.

ミレットジュモウのドレスがほぼ出来上がってきたので、レースボネット作ります。 レースボネットは、とにかくレースとリボンのてんこ盛りがキモですよね。このボネットは名前の通り、布を使わないでレースをつなぎ合わせて作ります。これを考えた人、すごいですよね。完成するととても繊細なボネットが出来上がります。ただ、小さいながらもかなりの量のレースとリボンが必要なので、良い素材の在庫が無いと作ることができません。

I made another Jumeau head. The head #1 was okay but I did not like the shape of eye cut and lips. This head mold was originally taken from Depose’ Jumeau and the head #2 looks more like Depose’ to me.

Jumeau ヘッド二作目は、わりとDepose’顔に出来上がりました。 元々はDepose’ Jumeauのモールドなので、このお顔の方がそれっぽいですね。 一作目はアイカットが大きくなり過ぎて、どちらかというとEJ顔でした.

I discovered a crochet outfit for my all bisque Kestner doll in my inventory, but is it intended for a boy doll? Well, my friend gave me great advice to add an over-lay skirt to a romper and make it into a dress.
So here it is! I can’t stop playing with this little girl. She is just too cute!

This doll will be available at WDD show & Sale in Sacramento on April 6th along with 11″ Jumeau doll.

手持ちのクロシェットドレスが6･5インチのケスナーにピッタリなのですが、スカートではなくロンパースになっているから男の子用でしょうか？ スカートでないのが残念！と嘆いていたら、お友達からスカートを付けたらいいのでは？というアドバイスをいただきました。さっそくレースのオーバーレイスカートを作ってみました。とてもいい感じです。(｡･ω･｡)ﾉ♡　オールビスクは一度手をかけてあげると可愛すぎてやめられないですね。コレクターさんがハマってしまう理由、すごくわかります。

この子はミレットジュモウと一緒に、４月のカリフォルニアのドールショウへ連れて行きます。

The 6.5 inch all-bisque Kestner I’ve been working on since last year has finally been completed this much so far. This is the first doll I’ve made using this mold, so there’s still room for improvement, but I think she turned out cute. I am not used to making such small dolls and now I know how hard it is!

If I can make the dress in time, I will take her to the WDD doll show in Sacramento with Millet Jumeau.

去年から作りかけだった6･5インチのオールビスクケスナーが、やっとここまで出来上がりました。 このモールドを使って作った初めての娘なのでまだまだ改善の余地はありますが、まあ何とか様になったかな？小さい子は本当に作るのが大変ですね (;^ω^)　もしドレスが間に合えば、4月のカリフォルニアのドールショウにミレットジュモウと一緒に連れて行きます。

11” Jumeau head just came out from kiln.
Her navy colored eyes are modern PW eyes from Hand Craft in UK.
I thought I made her eye cut too large but they seem to be okay.

とりあえず、ミレットのジュモウヘッド第1号が出来上がりました。 使ったのはハンド社のネイビーペーパーウェイトアイです。 アイカットが大き過ぎた感があるので、ヘッド２号目も製作中です
