11” Jumeau head just came out from kiln. Her navy colored eyes are modern PW eyes from Hand Craft in UK. I thought I made her eye cut too large but they seem to be okay.
I am still in the process of making Bru dress but I also started making another doll.
I will be joining the World Doll Day Show and Sale in Sacramento CA on April 6th ( Sat) and I will take a little 10″ Jumeau for sale. I made a prototype for myself early this year and I love her so much, I was looking for the jumeau body mold for that size to reproduce the doll. And I finally acquired the mold set so I can make the same doll to offer. I will be making the same dress since I still have the materials left. This doll will be offered at the show first and will be available to the public if she doesn’t sell at the show.
Velvet Knot Doll Exhibition I participated in last November was featured in ExtrArt magazine in Japan for several pages and my Bru photo was also included.
I am very honored that I was part of such an artistic community in Japan last year.
I have used many different shades of antique ecru silk fabrics but this deep tan shaded ecru silk from this Victorian wedding gown is the most gorgeous shade by far. I will be making a dress for my 14” Bru with this ecru and red silk combination.
I made Chevrot style body for my new 14” Bru. I don’t have Bru leg mold for this size so I hand carve Jumeau leg to alter the shape when they are still in clay stage.
Now I can start making her dress. (This doll is reserved )
Attempted to make a Jumeau arm band with a hot foil pen. Still needs lots of practice but good enough for my little Jumeau for now. I drew the ” Bebe Jumeau” Logo on antique red silk ribbon with gold foil. This hot foil pen melts gold foil to adhere to any surface. But the silk ribbon is so narrow and that makes drawing very challenging.
I made this head last year at the same time I was making 14” Bru with a blue dress that I took to Japan. I am going to finish her with a red dress I was working on. ( this doll is reserved )
Feels very satisfying to finally get started on project I was not able to do previously
I finished making a dress for 11” Jumeau. She is so little and adorable ! I am keeping her as part of my collection and will make more dresses for her trousseau when I have time.
