I’v always wanted to make large C Steiner doll with full round face. Well, my wish finally came true! I purchased a new mold of C Steiner recently and made a bisque head first time. I used antique dark blue eyes for this special girl and she turned out be soooo cute!   I just love her! I made this doll to be a part of my personal collection and she is not for sale. But someday in future, another C Steiner doll may be available. She is a large size 24 inch doll. I just wanted to introduce her as part of my new creation.

ずっと丸顔の大きいスタイナーを作ってみたかったのですが、ついに願いがかないました!　最近このCスタイナーのモールドが手に入ったので、今回初めてヘッドを作ってみました。特別な娘のために取っておいたダークブルーのアンテイークアイを入れてみたところ、とても可愛くなりました。想像したとおりの愛いらしい娘に出来上がったので、この場でぜひ皆さんに紹介したいともいます。ただ、この娘は私の個人のコレクション用に制作したもので、非売品です。いつか機会があれば、この娘と同じモールドで作った２４インチのスタイナーを販売できたらいいなと思っています。

One of the reason I decided to make this black Bru doll is I acquired an antique black Bru kid body few month ago. Finding antique Bru body to fit on the head mold I have is hard enough but finding black antique body is an extremely rare occasion. I could not pass this opportunity. However, this body has missing shoulder plate. Leather on upper arms and bisque lower arms were severely damaged. The lower legs have extensive repair. So I made bisque shoulder plate and arms, and of course the Bru head to fit on this body.

ブラックBru嬢を作り始めたもともとの理由と言うのが、何ヶ月か前にこのアンテイークのブラックBruキッドボデイを見つけたからです。手持ちのモールドに合うアンテイークのボデイを見つけるだけでも大変なのに、ブラックボデイを見つけるなんてなかなかあるご縁ではありません。ぜひ、このボデイを使ってリプロを作ってみたいと思いました。　　　　　　　　　　　ただ、このボデイには難がかなりありまして、ショルダープレートはすでに無く、腕のレザーはボロボロ、ビスクアームも指が欠け、膝下部分にはかなりのリペアが施してあります。なので、私のほうでショルダープレート、上腕、下腕、そしてもちろんこのボデイに合うヘッドを作ることとなったわけです。

This photos was taken after the third firing of skin tone. It’s pretty dark so I stopped right here.　３回目の肌色絵付け後。かなり濃くなったのでこの辺で止めました。

I painted eyebrows …. 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　眉毛を入れました。

I did touch up of eyebrows and added more lip color. I painted cheek color but the color does not appear in photo. Too bad.                                                                                       眉毛のタッチアップをして、リップカラーも濃くしました。チークも塗ったのですが、写真には写ってきませんでした。

I temporary set antique brown eyes to see how she looks. I think she is pretty cute.　 What do you think?                                                                                                                    アンテイークの茶目のグラスアイを入れてみました。なかなか可愛い感じに出来上がったと思いますが、皆さんはどう思いますか？

I have been working on black Bru head for last couple of weeks. I opened kiln this morning and looked at the result of third firing of skin tone and it looks pretty good to me.

この２週間ほど、ブラックBruのヘッド制作を行っていました。今朝キルンを開けて３回目の肌色の絵付けを確認してみたところ、なかなかいい感じなっていたので画像をアップします。

After second firing ( it looks shiny because I already applied medium to paint next skin tone).  ２回目の肌色絵付け後（次の肌色をのせるためミデイウムを塗ってしまった後に撮影したのでテカッています）

After third firing. It looks pretty dark to me. I think I will stop here.　　　　　　　　　　　３回目の肌色絵付け焼成後。かなり濃くなったので、この辺で止めます。

I acquired these antique brown eyes with spiral thread recently.  They are perfect for my next doll I am working on. Can you guess what I will be making next?

先日、下の画像にあるスパイラルスレッドのアンテイークブラウンアイが手に入りました。次の作品にぴったりのグラスアイです。

If you guessed ” ethnic doll”, you are correct. I will be making black Bru doll this time.          I have made mulatto Bru in the past and this time will be a black Bru which has slightly darker complexions than Mulatto. Painting her with right skin color will be a challenge but I am very excited to try something new!

次の作品は”エスニックドール”かな？と思われた方は正解です。今回はブラックBruドールを作ります。ムラトーは過去に何体か制作したことがありますが、今回はムラトーよりちょっと色の濃いブラックのBru嬢です。肌の絵付けが上手くいくかどうかがビミョウなところですが、新しい事にチャレンジするのでウキウキします。お楽しみに!

I am pleased to introduce my newest creation 14 inch A11T doll at last!                                I believe I started making her back in last September and she was going be my Christmas doll. Unfortunately I had to stop doll making due to family emergency last fall. She was a naked doll for a while but she finally became a complete doll. I am sure she is as happy as I am!

新作のキャビネットサイズ、14インチA11Tのお披露目です。　　　　　　　　　　　　　この娘を作り始めたのはたしか去年の9月頃で、クリスマスまでに完成させる予定でした。　ところが昨年秋に私のほうの家庭の事情でドール制作が出来なくなり、しばらく裸のまま放置されていたのですが、今回やっと完成させることが出来ました。私ももちろん嬉いですが、この娘はもっと嬉しがっていると思います。

She is a cabinet size 14 inch tall ( does not include a bonnet). Her bisque head is not pale, I painted with pink skin tone to give antique look. She has pair of antique blue paper weight oval eyes and her blonde mohair wig is also an antique.

ボネットを含まない背丈は、キャビネットサイズの14インチ (約36センチ）です。ビスクヘッドは、アンテイークのビスクドールに近い雰囲気を出すために、ピンク色の絵付けをしました。グラスアイはブルーのアンテイークオーバルアイです。被っているウィッグは、ブロンドのアンテイークモヘアウィッグです。

I found this cream color vintage cotton chemise which fits perfectly on her so I kept it and made ecru color cotton drawers as a part of her undergarment.

たまたま手持ちのヴィンテージ下着の中に、彼女にぴったり合うクリーム色の可愛いコットンシミーズがあったので、そのまま着せてあります。ドロワーズはアンテイークの綿ローン地を使って作ってあげました。

Her body is a straight wrist French composition jointed body just as many of antique AT doll would have. I made this body from mold and I stained the body to give aged look.

ボデイーはアンテイークのAT ドールによくあるタイプの、フレンチスタイルストレートリストコンポジションボデイで、モールドから型抜きして作りました。仕上げの塗装は、ヴィンテージの風合いが出るように汚れた感じに仕上げました。

Her dress is entirely hand crafted by me by using all antique materials including the bonnet. It has hook and eye closure at front and I attached bustle pad inside the back of the dress instead of letting the doll wear it.

ドレスとボネットはアンテイークの素材を使ってすべて私が制作しました。フロントパネルにフックが付いていて、そこを開けて着脱するデザインです。今回はバッスルパッドをドールに着せるのではなく、ドレスの後部内側に直接縫い付けました。

Her shoes are made with black lambskin leather and has ” A.T ” stamp at sole. I made tiny silk rosette and applied antique button at the center as a decoration. Ivory color socks are vintage rayon socks.

ATの革靴は子羊の黒革製で、飾りにはシルクリボンで作ったロゼットと真ん中にアンテイークのボタンを使いました。靴底には”A.T”のスタンプを押してあります。靴下はヴィンテージのレーヨン製ソックスです。

Her wig is an antique blonde mohair wig.

ウィッグにはアンテイークのブロンドモヘアウィッグを使いました。

I finished making shoes for my AT doll!  I looked up many shoes that antique AT dolls are wearing and they are often wearing shoes look very similar to Jumeau or Bru shoes. But I also noticed many AT’s are wearing shoes with silk ribbon rossette with antique button at the center. So I decided to create pair of shoes with similar look for my little AT doll.            I stitched narrow brown silk ribbon to make rosette and used antique silver button at the center. The sole has stamped marking of A.T. I wish I have sewing machine with function of blanket stitching so that I can finish edge trim more authentically. But for now, I used braid trim to create a similar look.

AT 嬢の革靴が完成しました。ほとんどのアンテイークATは、ジュモウやBruと似たような靴を履いていますが、いろいろ調べてみたところ、飾りにシルクリボンのロゼットと真ん中にボタン、というスタイルの靴を履いている娘をけっこう見かけました。なので、私のAT嬢にもこのスタイルの靴を作ってあげることにしました。ロゼットは茶色のシルクリボンをジグザグに縫って作り、真ん中にアンテイークのシルバーのボタンをつけました。靴底にはATのスタンプを押しました。私はブランケットステッチが出来るミシンを持っていないので、縁取りにはブレイドトリムを縫い付けて、似たような雰囲気を出しています。
