I am making composition lower legs for 14” Bru.
Modifying Jumeau leg to Bru leg by carving and reshaping them during clay stage.
Antique Bru kid body I was going to use did not have correct proportions and leather legs seem to be too fat for her.
It may worked if she had sweeter small child like face but antique eyes I chose gave her more matured look instead.
I want her to have correct body with slender legs so that I can design a perfect Bru dress.

新作のBru嬢を作り始めた時は、アンテイークのBruキッドボディを使う予定でしたが、ヘッドが出来上がってから合わせてみたら少し身長が低く、しかもレザーの足がものすごくサリーちゃんなので、ちょっと“ウーン”と考えてしまいました。お顔の出来が愛らしい子供っぽいタイプだったらあのボデイでも良かったと思うのですが、使用するアンテイークアイだとキリッとした大人びた表情なので、サリーちゃん足のポッチャリボディはちょっと似合わない気が…  使いたいドレスのデザインはやっぱりスッキリしたBruボディならでわのタイプなので、思い切ってボディを作ることにしました。というわけで、今下脚部分をコンポで作っています。元々はジュモウボディ用の足なので、まだクレイ状態のうちに成形しました。かなりBruの足っぽくなったと思います。

Cold and windy day is the best day to play with dolls.🥰

寒くて風の強い日は、絶好の人形遊びの日ですね！新作のBru嬢のドレスデザインを考えて、色んな生地を重ねてみました。やっぱりミントグリーンかな？

I haven’t been painting doll heads over one year till recently.
I had to practice brush strokes with extra bisque heads I have been saving for this purpose. They have wrong eye cuts, some firing flaws , not satisfying paint work etc ..
Pleasantly this repainted Bru head came out very nicely and I am enjoying playing with it.

今回の小さいBru嬢のヘッド制作に入る際、実は一年以上絵付けをやってなかった事に気が付きました。(^_^;)  幸いボツヘッドがそこら中に転がっていたので、早速それらを使って筆使いの練習をしていました。ボツというだけに、それぞれ難ありのヘッドなのですが、たまたま絵付けをし直したこのBruヘッド、結構いい感じに焼き上がりました。いい子ができるとつい遊んでしまいたくなりますよね。

I removed old painting work from this head which was done many years ago and repainted recently. She came out very nicely.

I finished painting 14 inch Bru Jne 4 head and she just came out from kiln this morning.
Tried to apply antique eyes I just acquired. She looks pretty good but have to think for few days if I want to use them. Actual eye colors are much lighter than photo.

３５センチのBruJne４ヘッドの絵付けが完了しました。今朝窯から出したので、冷めてから、さっそく先日入手したばかりのアンティークアイを仮止めしてみました。実際の色は画像より薄いブルーなのですが、なかなかいい感じです。しばらくこのまま様子を見て、このお顔で良いか決めたいと思います。

I cast mold the other day and tried to clean SFGW today.
I use to be able to clean head and body parts in one day but my neck gave up after cleaning SP and arms.
I can already tell it’s gong to be a slow process … 😣

クリスマスやお正月も終わって、やっと新作に取り掛かる事が出来ました。今回は私が好きなモールドの一つ、14インチのBruJne4号を作る事にしました。

先日型抜きをしたので、今日はウェットクリーニングの作業をしたのですが、ショルダープレートとビスクアームのクリーニングをやるだけで精一杯。以前は1日でヘッドもパーツもクリーニング出来たのですが、ヘッドへたどり着く前に首がギブアップしました。😭　出来上がりまでかなり時間がかかりそうな予感です。。。

2020 has been a challenging year for many of us.
When I look back to the beginning of 2020, my new year resolution was to ” Slow down”.
I can now say my wish truly came true.
I was able to experience a lifestyle without deadlines for the first time in decades, I have rediscovered the beauty of the environment I have been living in for the last 20years.
Most of all I gained new friends in my neighborhood which I never had time to connect till now.  It’s been a difficult year yet I am very thankful that I was able to learn to appreciate what I already have.

I grew up in snow country so I know spring is far more enjoyable after we get through a harsh winter. I am 100% sure 2021 will be a better year and I am already so excited thinking about what I can do.
I will be making a new doll from January and I can’t wait to get started!

Please continue practicing safe hygiene to get through few more months. I am very much hopeful that we can resume traveling and reunite with doll friends sometime this year.

新年明けましておめでとうございます。2020年は多くの人にとって大変な年でしたね。私の去年の抱負は、”ゆっくり生きる”となっていましたが、まさにその通りになった一年でした。ここ何十年かで初めて締め切りのない生活を送ることができ、２０年以上住んでいながら初めて地元環境の素晴らしさを体験しました。そして何より嬉しいのが、今まで忙しくてお付き合いが出なかったご近所さん達ととても仲良くなれた事です。いつも気持ちが外に向いていた私には、今までできていた事ができずに難しい一年ではありましたが、実は幸せはすべて身近にあった、という新たな発見をした年でもありました。私は雪国で育ったので、厳しい冬を越した後にやって来る春に、ひときわ喜びを感じます。2021年は100%良い年になるはずなので、今から何をやろうかとウキウキしています。しばらくお休みを頂いたので、新年からはさっそく新作に取り掛かろうと思います。その過程をまたブログやSNSに載せますので、お楽しみに！今年中には今までのように旅行ができ、ドール友達と再会できる日が来ることを確信しています。それまであともう少しの辛抱ですね。これからも皆さんが健康でありますように。そしてたくさんの幸せがやってきますように。今年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

コロナ大流行のせいで世界中が激変してしまった一年でしたが、残りあと少しとなりました。アメリカではワクチンの接種も始まって、トンネルの向こうに光が見えてきた感じです。旅行やイベントに参加せずゆっくりできた分、今後の生き方について十分考える時間を与えられました。そして、体に負担がかかり過ぎない今の生活パターンを今後も続けて行きたいと思いました。その分制作できる作品数はかなり減りますが、作家活動をできるだけ長く続けて行きたいので、今後もスローモードですがよろしくお願いいたします。新年からまた少しづつ新作に取り掛かっていく予定ですので、FB,インスタグラムと合わせてブログの更新を楽しみにしていてくださいね。皆さんもどうか素敵なクリスマスと、穏かな年末年始をお過ごしください。

I am very thankful that all my families are healthy for this year’s Thanksgiving day. That’s all I wish for. I wish all of you the same A Safe and Happy Thanksgiving day!

今日はアメリカは感謝祭の日です。大変な一年でしたが、こうして家族全員健康でこの日を迎えられたことに感謝です。これ以上大切な事は無いと、つくづく感じさせられた年となりました。

I made this Schmit bebe head almost three years ago to keep in my collection. She will be 14 inch tall when finish and it was suppose to be my first Schmitt doll. Well, it’s been busy three years and I completely neglected her ( actually I forgot that I made her ) and I just found this head laying around in the box sadly. If you live in US right now, it’s very stressful time because of Presidential election. I have been restless just as many of you, and playing with dolls is the perfect way to keep me calm. So I have been playing with this Schmitt bebe for last few days. I attached the head to the body and trying different eyes and wigs. I will eventually make a dress for her and imagining best design for her is so exciting. It brought back love of dolls in my heart again.  I am not posting much on blog lately since I am not making any new dolls right now but I am posting dolls I have made in the past on Facebook and Instagram routinely. 3年ほど前に自分のコレクション用に作ったシュミットべべのヘッド、存在をすっかり忘れていました。この3年間はとても忙しくて、すっかりかまってあげられずに箱の中に悲しくゴロっと転がっていたんですよね。(ごめんなさい)
今アメリカは大統領選挙でゴタゴタしていて、ここ数日何も手につかず、ハラハラしながら過ごしています。こんな時はやっぱりお人形遊びが一番落ち着きます。
さっそくこのヘッドをボディに取り付けて、グラスアイやウィッグを換えたりして遊んでいる最中です。いずれはドレスも作ってあげたいですね。デザインを考えてるうちにウキウキしてきて、ここ最近遠ざかっていたお人形ラブ️熱が少し蘇ってきました。新作を作っていないのでブログ更新があまりありませんが、Facebookやインスタグラムで随時過去に作った作品を紹介していますので、そちらも覗いてみてくださいね.
