子供の頃どの家にもあったであろう昭和レトロポーズ人形。私が生まれた頃に作られたこのお二人、懐かしさと、お顔があまりに可愛くてお迎えしてしまいました、でもヘッドが凄くうつむいて取り付けられていて、同じ目線に置くと肝心のお顔が見えないのですよ。なぜこんなにうつむいているのーー？キャビネットの上に飾ったら答えがわかりました。 下から見上げる高さに置くと、お顔がちょうど良く見える角度に取り付けられていたのでした。 つまり、タンスの上などに飾られる事を前提に作られていたのですね！そう言えば日本では、観賞用のお人形は子供の手が届かない場所に飾られるのが一般でしたね。 私は自分のお人形は、目線かそれより下に飾ってあるので、すっかり忘れていた懐かしい習慣です。
I have successfully finished casting 12-inch Bru, and have completed the wet cleaning stage. Until now, I have been using Seeley’s Bru Jne 11 mold for the 12-inch Bru, but this time I am using Bru Jne 4 head to make 12-inch doll. I love the face of Bru 4 so I’m very excited to make a smaller size doll with this head for the first time.
いよいよオリンピックが始まりましたね！ 開会式のセリーン.ディオンを聴いて泣いた人は私だけじゃないはず (彼女は難病の闘病中で、ずっと歌うことができませんでした) 感動のフィナーレでしたね。
さて、次の作品12インチBruの型抜きを無事終え、ウェットクリーニングの段階まで完了しました。今までは12インチBruはシーリー社のBruJne11のモールドを使っていたのですが、今回は１４インチのBruJne4のモールドを１２インチサイズに縮小した物を作ってもらったので、それを使おうと思います。個人的には4号のお顔の方が好きなので、これで小さいサイズを作れるかと思うと、俄然やる気が湧いてきました。
This week, I’ll start creating a new doll. I wanted to cast the mold today but the heat was too much, and I had to give up. I can’t use the kiln during this heatwave.
Instead, I’ll make a Chevrot body in the air-conditioned doll room. The new doll will be a 12-inch Bru.

今週から新作の制作にはいります。 本当はヘッドの型抜きを今日したかったのですが、あまりの暑さに断念。。。(´・ω・`) 酷暑が終わるまでキルンも使えそうにありません。 代わりにエアコンの効いた人形部屋でシェブロウボディの制作をする事にしました。 新作は12インチのBruの予定です。皆様も熱中症に気を付けてご自愛くださいね！
I am delighted to introduce my latest creation, 14” Bru Jne, featuring antique eyes.
Since the beginning of this year, I have been working on this doll, and I’m thrilled to see her finally come to life! The customers on the current waiting list have already been waiting for three years, and I’m very grateful for their patience. It gives me satisfaction that I can finally offer her a doll that she had been waiting for a long time.
It will probably take another two years to complete the current list, and if I were to make another waiting list, I would accept only a small number of people each year so that I could fill the list in one year.
I didn’t realize so many people would apply to be on the waiting list when I first offered it three years ago, and I think it would be a shame to keep customers waiting for so many years.
(The maximum number of dolls that can be produced in one year is three.)
I will continue to make extra dolls available to the public when I do doll shows or exhibitions, as long as I am able to. Lastly, I am very grateful for the support and encouragement I receive from everyone.

新作Bru嬢のお披露目です。 年明けから制作し始めてやっと完成したと言う、結構時間がかかった子ですが、愛らしくできて満足です。やっぱりBruに赤のドレスは王道ですね。
現在の予約リストに載っているお客様は、すでに3年も待ってくださっていて、やっと順番が来て気持ちよくお迎えしてくださるので本当にありがたいです。 現リストの消化はまだ2年近くかかりそうですが、次回予約リストを作るならば、一年で消化できる様に少人数のみを毎年受け付けできたらいいなと思っています。はやり何年もお待たせするのは心苦しいですね。 (ちなみに一年で制作できる限度は3体です)
こんな亀なスピードの作業ですが、いつも応援してくださってる皆さんに心から感謝しています。また体調が許す限り、展示会のお誘いがあればそちらでの販売もいつか再開しますので、気長にお付き合いくださいね。
I created a bonnet for 14-inch Bru using beautiful antique red silk velvet as the base fabric, and added antique jacquard ribbons and antique straw trim as an accent. I purchased this piece of antique straw many years ago but never had a chance to use it because it’s so short in length. I figured out how to make a use of it this time so that I can create the look of straw hat. Now, I need to make her shoes to complete the look. ( this doll is reserved)
何年か前にドールショウで買ったこのアンティークの麦わらの一部。 1メートル単位の値段かと思って買ったら半分の50センチでの値段で、高すぎてビックリ！ しかもたったこれだけの長さでどうやって使うんだ、と箪笥の肥やしになっていたのですが、やっと出番が来ました！ こうやって使うんですね。なんちゃって麦わら帽子に見える感じに作りました。さて次は靴を作ったら、いよいよこの子は完成です。（この作品は売約済みです）
The dress for 14”Bru is complete! I will use dark blue eyes that complement her sweet expressions and the red dress is the perfect color for her . I’ll now make her hat and shoes then she will be all done !

Bru嬢のドレスが完成しました! グラスアイはダークブルーの虹彩が大きめの方を使うことにしました。やっぱり赤いドレスに似合うのは、あどけない表情の娘ですよね。 これからボネと靴を作っていよいよ完成です！

月の初めにドールショウを終えて以来、けっこうバタバタしてまして、やっとドレス制作の続きができるようになりました。 ひたすらチクチク… 後もう少しで完成しそうです。
This is the front design of the dress. I had originally prepared a different front design, but the ecru fabric was too stiff, and I couldn’t achieve the desired drape, so I changed to this design. Many antique fabrics alter in texture when wet and ironed, so I have to be flexible with the design in case this happens.
ドレスの前部分はこんな感じです。初めは別のデザインを用意してしていたのですが、エクル色の生地がゴワゴワ過ぎて思っていたようなドレープが作れず、このデザインに変更しました。 アンティーク生地は霧吹きをかけて湿ると手触りが全く変わってしまう物が多いため、こういう予定変更も多々あります。
I acquired light blue antique eyes for my 14 Bru doll, and I am currently deciding which ones to use. I will make a decision once the doll is fully dressed. ( this doll is reserved)

The WDD Show & Sale event on May 4th was a huge success despite the weather.
Thank you so much to the people who came to see us in the pouring rain.
I was able to meet many followers of my dolls and that was the best part of the show. I only do very few public events so meeting customers and followers in person means a lot to me. Also reuniting old doll friends, meeting new doll friends are another best part of attending doll shows. My son came as my helper and he was a great help! We really enjoyed the event. Driving over I-80 Donner Pass was a little concerning because late season snow storms dropped 1-2 feet of snow on the mountain while we were in California. We stayed overnight at the hotel and we stopped by an antique mall on the way back home the next day to wait for the road to dry out at mountain.. The road was clear with snow by the time we hit the summit so we made home safely. It was a short but very meaningful trip.
Both of my dolls – 11″ Jumeau and All Bisque Kestner found a new home at the show.

カリフォルニアでのドールショウを無事に終えて帰宅しました。現地では当日大雨が降って客足が心配されたのですが、にもかかわらずたくさんの方が来場してくださり、本当に良いイベントとなりました。おかげさまで私が連れて行ったジュモウとオールビスクケスナ―は、お迎え先が決まりました。 私のフォロワーさん達に実際にお目にかかる事が出来、さらに新しいデイ―ラーさん達ともお知り合いになることができたりと、今回のドールショウもとても実りあるものでした。準備が重労働なので私は公のイベントにはあまり参加しませんが、体調が許す範囲でこれからも、ちょこちょこ参加させていただきたいと思います。ちなみに今回は息子がヘルプに入ってくれて、車も運転してくれとても助かりました。カリフォルニアへ行くには、シエラネバダ山脈の峠を越えていかなければならないのですが、たまたまショウの当日峠では大雪が降って帰りの道中が心配されたのですが、途中アンティークモールに寄ったりして道路の雪が解けるまで待って、次の日の夕方無事に帰宅しました。
