Her face is painted as ” Sawako”  type Eden bebe. Her wig is an antique mohair wig in ash blond color. I set high dome antique oval eyes for this doll to create more authentic look.

今回のエデンべべは”さわ子”タイプの絵付けをしました。より雰囲気を出すために、ドームの高いアンテイークのオーバルアイを使用しています。ウィッグはアッシュブロンドのアンテイークモヘアウィッグです。

She has pierced ears and wearing vintage blue glass earrings.

耳たぶにはピアスホールがあり、ビンテージのブルーのグラスイヤリングをつけています。

I made her dress using antique materials entirely including yards of silk ribbons to trim edge of the lace. She comes with antique silver doll mesh purse and a little all bisque doll that she is holding.

ドレスはレースの端を飾ってあるシルクリボンを含めて、すべてアンテイークの素材を使って作りました。彼女が持っているシルバーのメッシュバッグと、小さなビスクドールは付属品です。

She is wearing bustle pad underneath to puff up the back of the dress.

ドレスの下にはバッスルパッドを付けているので、後ろ部分が膨らんでいます。

She is wearing chemise and bustle pad, drawers made with antique cotton fabric.

下着はシミーズの他にドロワーズ、バッスルパッドです。すべてアンテイークのコットンとレースできています。

I made her articulated composition body from mold and finished with antiqued paint.

ボデイーは、私が型から抜いて作ったコンポジションボデイーです。雰囲気を出すためにアンテイーク加工のペイントを施しました。

She is very good at sitting.　お座りも上手です。

Her bonnet is also made entirely by hand using antique materials.

ボネットもすべてアンテイークの素材を使って作りました。

I made these shoes using Jumeau shoes pattern since she has Jumeau body. I used  black lambskin leather for upper part and decorate with brown silk bows. It has Jumeau bee stamp at sole.

彼女はジュモウボデイーなので、柔らかい羊の革を使ってジュモウ靴を作りました。靴底にはジュモウの蜂マークのスタンプが押してあります。

I received this wonderful picture of AT from my customer.
I made the head in the past and customer found the antique body for the head and dressed her beautifully. She looks gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this lovely photo !

久ぶりにお客様からいただいた画像をご紹介します。この娘は過去にヘッドのみでお譲りしたAT嬢ですが、お客様がアンテイークのボデイーを取り付け素敵なお支度をしてくださいました。うっとりです～～。アンテイークのゴージャスなウィッグがまた一段とお顔を引き立てていますね。シェアしてくださりありがとうございました！

My Eden bebe is almost completed ! I just finished her bonnet and shoes. I only have to make her under garment ( as my bad habit, I make underwear at very last….) after this.

エデンベベのボネットと靴が出来上がりました！あとは下着を作るだけです。（ってか、私の悪い癖で、一番おっくうな下着は最後にまわすという。。。）

I used antique ecru silk fabric for base and decorated with lots of antique organdy and antique silk ribbon.

アンテイークのシルク地をベースに、アンテイークのオーガンジーとシルクリボンを使ってデコレーションしてみました。

It looks like this when I put it  on the wig.

ウィッグの上から被せるとこんな感じです。

Added few vintage millinery flowers on side as an accent.

サイドにはビンテージの布花を飾りに使いました。

Back view of the bonnet. I could have decorated more at the edge of the bottom section  but did not have enough antique ribbon.Too bad ..

後ろはこんな感じです。裾の部分をもっとリボンで飾り付けをしたかったのですが、残念ながらリボンが足りなくなってしまいました。

I made her shoes by using Jumeau shoes pattern.  I thought Jumeau shoes would be suitable for her because antique Eden bebe often have Jumeau body.

アンテイークのエデンべべはジュモウボデイーの子が多いので、靴はジュモウ靴のパターンを使って作りました。

I am going to finish her under garment this weekend. I am hoping to list Eden bebe for sale sometime next week.  Please look forward to her final revealing!

My summer just came and went. It’s already September and I am still working on the doll I started in June. I hope you forgive me for taking so long because I am trying to adjust my  life to new routine right now.                                                                                                    Hey, at least I finished the hardest part , “the dress making” !

This dress has different style than what I have been making for many years. I often make taylored style  jacket dress or drop waist dress for my dolls. But I wanted to take different approach this time since this is my first time to make a dress for Eden bebe. Actually I have been wanting to make dress like this for long time but  didn’t have the doll looks right with this style. The design itself is not very complicated but I wanted to achieve antique look by decorating entire dress with more intricate parts. As I posted on my previous entry, most of my time was consumed by making lace parts. I hope this paying extra attention to detail is reflecting on quality of the dress.

今年の夏はあっという間に過ぎ去ってしまい、すでに9月です。6月から作り始めたエデンべべは、カメのスピードで進んでますが、やっとドレスの完成にこぎつけました。何せ今は8月から勤め始めた新しい職場環境に慣れるため、なかなかドール製作に時間が取れないでいます。（いいわけですいませ～ん！）

さてさて、今回は初めて完成させるエデンべべのために、今までとは違ったスタイルのドレスをデザインしてみました。というか、こういうのをずっと作ってみたかったのですが、なんだか私の今までの作品には似合わないスタイルだったので、作る機会がありませんでした。デザインはそれほど凝ったものではないのですが、飾りとなるレースのパーツにヒト工夫して、ドレス全体にビンテージの深みを出そうとしました。前回のブログにも書いたように、ドレス制作のほとんどはパーツを作る時間に使われたのですが、ちょっとひと手間かけた効果が作品全体に現れていたらいいなと思います。

I haven’t decided which wig I am going to use for my Eden bebe till I got this antique mohair wig ! It just arrived yesterday and has ash blond color with loose curl with bang, very desirable styled wig. It looks perfect on her and matches with her dress style. I think I am going to use this wig instead of short bob cut wig. She looked very young and adorable with short hair but she looks more elegant with softer expressions with this long curl mohair wig.

エデンべべのウィッグはどのタイプにするかまだ決めてなかったのですが、先日買ったアンテイークのモヘアウィッグが昨日届いてさっそくつけてみたところ、雰囲気が制作中のドレスとぴったり合うので、これで行こうと思います。おカッパちゃんだと幼く見えますが、ロングのモヘアだとちょっと大人っぽく優しい感じに見えます。

I was pausing doll making for a while because I started working at new facility as a nurse from August.   Things have settled down a bit and I can finally get back on dress making for my Eden bebe! She has been very patient without any clothing on. What a good girl she is!

8月から新しい職場でのナース業が始まったので、ドールメイキングはしばらくお休みしていました。ここにきてやっと少し落ち着いた感じがするので、エデンべべ嬢のドレスメイキングを再開しました。いままで裸のままでじっと我慢していた彼女は、とってもいい子です。

I have deiced to use lots of antique net lace and silk ribbons over pale blue silk to make her dress.

今回は、ペールブルーのアンテイークシルク地の上に、たくさんのチュールレースやシルクリボンをのせたタイプのドレスを作ってみたいと思います。

I am making yards of shirred ribbon to attach the edge of lace trim.

何メートルにも及ぶシルクリボンにギャザーを入れて、チュールレースの端に縫い付けています。

Then attaching ruffled silk ribbon as another layer. Very time consuming work!

その下にさらに、ギャザーをよせたアンテイークのシルクリボンを縫い付けます。

So far I am only able to make these parts because this lace trim will be all over the dress.  I will be able to show more or maybe  finished dress on next post ! Stay tuned !

このレースがドレス全体につくので今のところパーツ作りだけで日が暮れていますが、次回の投稿ではもっと形になったものをお見せできると思います。お楽しみに！

I say Eden Bebe head was the most challenging mold I have ever worked with ! Not only I was trying to create ” Sawako” type look out of non-Sawako face mold, her eyelashes and eyebrows are very difficult to paint compare to other French dolls like Bru or AT I often make. I had to practice long hours in order to create this head I just finished. But practice paid off and I am very happy with the result . I think she is just adorable!

エデンべべは、今まで作ったいろいろなモールドの中で一番難しいです。まずはさわ子ちゃんでないモールドを使ってさわ子ちゃんの顔を作るということ自体がチャレンジなのですが、エデンべべ特有のまつ毛や眉毛の描き方をマスターするのが非常に難しい。このヘッドにたどり着くまでかなりの時間をかけて練習しました。その甲斐あって、なかなかかわいい子が完成しました。

This is the type of Eden Bebe mold I use.

これがモールドの原型に使われたタイプのエデンべべです。

This is Sawako type Eden Bebe ( Collection of Palmira Yamazaki). Note the difference of eye shape and  eyebrows. They also have very pale skin tone compare to common Eden Bebe.

こちらがパルミラさん所有のさわ子ちゃん。目と眉毛の形が上のエデンべべとだいぶ違います。肌の色もさわ子ちゃんの方が色白です。

And, this is my version of “Sawako” type Eden Bebe!

そしてこちらが私が作ったさわ子タイプのエデンべベです。

I used antique oval eyes with very high dome.

ドームが高いアンテイークのグラスアイを使っています。とてもキラキラしています！

I made this composition body by using paper-mache composition slip. Gave antique finish to create vintage look.

コンポジションボデイーはペーパーマシェのスリップを使って、モールドに鋳込みして作りました。ビンテージの風合いを出すように、わざとアンテイーク加工のペイントを施してあります。

Her wrists are jointed and articulated.

手首が可動するジョイントリストタイプのボデイーです。

Now I can move on to fun part of dress making! How exciting!
