I didn’t realize I have been working on this doll for almost 5 months since I started in April.   I appreciate everyone for waiting such long time for me to finish this doll. Now waiting is over and it’s time to reveal her with two outfit and her trousseau !

4月にこの娘を製作し始めてから、あっという間に5ヶ月も経っていました。こんなにも長い間辛抱強く待ってくださり、本当にありがとうございました。いよいよ、お披露目です!

I painted her bisque in pink tone like antique Bru doll. She has special antique paper weight blue glass eyes to give her antique look. As I mentioned in past blog, I put specks all over bisque intentionally to give her aged look. http://bebesbysayuri.com/dollblog/?p=1407      Therefore it is not flaw but if you prefer clean bisque, this doll may not be for you.

ビスクはアンテイークに近いピンク色に絵付けしてあります。グラスアイは、アンテイークのオーバルアイです。以前ブログでお知らせしましたが、ビンテージっぽくなるようこの娘にはわざとビスクにキルンダストを付着させてあります。http://bebesbysayuri.com/dollblog/p=1407　　難点ではありませんので、ご了承ください。

I hope she turned out as you all are hoping for. She is a tiny cabinet size doll but seems to have the presence of a ” big doll “. Her expressions also changes when she wears different costumes. She appears very sweet and young in pink and looks more mature in aqua dress. I will post her body and underwear pictures once again for people who visited my blog first time.

さて、ご期待通りの仕上がりになりましたでしょうか？　14インチと小さいキャビネットサイズながら、なかなか存在感のある娘です。しかも、ドレスを換えるごとに表情がずいぶん違って見えます。ピンクのときは可愛らしく幼い感じに、アクアのドレスではちょっとお姉さんっぽい雰囲気に見えます。

今回初めて私のブログを訪れたかのために、もう一度ボデイーと下着の画像を貼っておきますね。

I made Chevrot style body for her and used vintage kidskin leather this time.I stained only part of the body and the rest is leather’s natural color. I also stained her composition lower leg to match vintage feeling.

この娘には特別、ビンテージのキッドスキン革を使ってシェブロースタイルのボデイーを作りました。コンポジションの下肢の部分は、古い感じを出すためにステイン加工してあります。
She is wearing 5 pieces of undergarment. I resized antique doll underwear to fit on this doll. But corset is completely hand made by me. Outer fabric is silver color antique silk and lining is made with antique heavy weight cotton. There are tiny bones to hold the shape.Her shoes are made with black lambskin leather. There are ” Bru Jne Paris” stamps at the sole just like antique Bru shoes.

下着は画像にあるように、シミーズ、ペチコート、パンタロン、コルセット、バッスルパッドをつけています。コットンの下着は、アンテイークドールの下着をリフォームして作りました。コルセットはすべて私の手作りです。コルセットの表の生地はアンテイークのシルバーカラーのシルクで、裏地はアンテイークのペチコートから取った厚めのコットンです。ちゃんと小さなボーンも入っています。靴は黒の羊革から作りました。靴底には”BruJneParis”のスタンプが押してあります。靴下は、ビンテージのコットンソックスです。

Now, it’s time to reveal her trousseau! I started making this box few month ago because it requires many different steps and very time consuming. I have been cutting out doll pictures from magazines and catalogs ( not just any doll pictures, I only picked good ones!) when I had down time at home between my busy schedules. After glued cutouts all over the trunk carefully, I decoupaged and crackled surface, then gave antique finish. I lined inside the trunk with pale blue silk fabric and placed accessories on inside the lid. These goodies are all included in this doll.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　     ではいよいよプレゼンテーションボックス、と言うかトランクのお披露目です!　　　　　　　制作するのに何段階もの手間暇がかかるものなので、何ヶ月も前からこつこつと作ってきました。とくにちょこっとだけ暇な時間ができたときなど、ちまちまとお人形の写真を切り抜いて集めていました。しかも、なんでもいい写真ではなくて、良いお人形の写真だけ集めたんですよ。切り抜いた写真を貼り付けた後は、デコパージュをして、クラックル効果を出し、さらにその上からアンテイーク加工をしました。箱の中にはペールブルーのシルク地を貼り付けました。そしてふたを開けると、その内側にはたくさんのアクセサリーが!

Finally! I finished making undergarments including corset and shoes. Here are photos of her undies that you will not see when she is fully dressed.  She is wearing lots of undies just like a little mademoiselle use to wear back in 1800’s. ( Aren’t you glad you don’t have to?)  I am going to let miss little Bru to take off her garment one by one so that you can see the layer of her underwear.

Ｂｒｕ嬢の下着が完成しました!　ほとんど見せる機会がない下着なので作るのに気合が要りますが、1800年代当時のお嬢様のようにたくさん着込んでいます。下の画像では、一枚ずつ脱いでいただくことにしました。

I modified antique doll underwear to fit on this doll so they look lot more like antiques than reproductions. 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　今回はアンテイークドール用の下着をリフォームして作ったので、リプロよりはずっとアンテイークっぽく見えます。

Her corset was completely hand made by me. I used antique silver silk fabric at front side and antique heavy cotton as the backing. It has tiny bones inside just like a real corset.　 コルセットは、全部私が手作りしました。表はアンテイークのシルバーのシルク地で、裏地はアンテイークのペチコートから取った厚手のコットンです。ちゃんと小さなボーンも入っています。

Her shoes are made with black lambskin leather. There are ” Bru Jne Paris” stamps at the bottom and I applied Bru style buckle as an accent. Her socks are vintage cotton socks.

靴は黒の羊革を使って作りました。靴底には”BruJneParis”のスタンプが押してあります。　飾りはトラデイショナルなバックルスタイルにしました。

I will be finishing this doll with trunk to store all her trousseau. I am hoping to list her for sale sometime this weekend. I will reveal her with two dresses when she is ready.             It may take for extra few days to see her on my main website since I have to ask my web designer to make pages. Here is a bonnet I just finished to go with aqua dress for my 14 inch little Bru.                       I used antique silk chiffon to make ruffles around bonnet and decorated top of the bonnet with antique pale blue silk ribbons. I wanted to use this blue ribbon as an accent through out the bonnet but I run out of it ! I thought I had enough length but ended up using most of ribbons by making pon-pons at the top. Too bad … It still look very sweet.

１４インチＢｒｕ嬢のアクアブルーのドレス用のボネットが完成しました。　　　　　　　　アンテイークのシルクシフォンをたっぷり使ってフリルを作り、トップに例のペールブルーのアンテイークシルクリボンで作ったポンポンの飾りをつけました。本当は、もっとこのリボンを使って飾りつけたったのですが、残念なことにポンポンの部分にほとんど使ってしまい、他のところにまわす余分がなくなってしまいました。たくさんあると思っていたのに残念です。　　　 アンテイークものは、使い切ってしまうと同じものが手に入る確立は”ゼロ”に近いので残念です。でも、Ｂｒｕ嬢にかぶせると、とても可愛くなります。

Next project is making shoes and corset. She will be completed soon!

次は、靴とコルセットに取り掛かります。お披露目はもうすぐです。お楽しみに!

I started working on the bonnet to go with pink dress and here it is!

まずは、ピンクのドレスに合うボネットから取り掛かりました。

I thought about many different designs like lace bonnet, velvet, small brim, large brim etc … and found out this frou frou style bonnet made with lots of pink silk chiffon seem to match the best for the dress and the doll.

レースボネットやベルベットの物、つばが広いのから小さいタイプなど、いろいろデザインを考えましたが、ピンクドレスのBru嬢にはこのおもいっきりフリフリなシルクシフォンでできたボネットが似合うようです。

I decorated back if the brim with antique pink silk ribbons and vintage millinery flowers.  The inside hat is constructed with wire including the brim. It turned out to be very sturdy and rather heavy bonnet. It needs to be pined from the top so that it will stay on doll head.Next project is making hat for the aqua color dress!

ツバの後ろにはアンテイークのピンクシルクリボンをメインにあしらい、周りをビンテージのベルベットフラワーで飾りました。ボネット自体はツバの部分も含めてワイヤーで作られています。なので、けっこう丈夫で重いボネットに出来上がりました。被せるときはピンで固定して、ヘッドから落ちないようにします。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　さて、次はアクアカラーのドレス用のボネットに取り掛かります。

Ah~, it’s been a while since I made really girly pink dress for my doll. I tend to choose chic colors often and not using pastel colors.   But I must say it was fun! I should be using this color more often. 🙂                                                                                                           After constructed top portion, I thought about using some complicated designs from waist below.I have made few prototypes of waist decorations and skirt over-ray etc …     Honestly I was spending more time for this process than actual sewing.                            At the end, I chose this rather simple, traditional design. Just because this design seem to fit the best for the doll.

*************************************************************************************************ピンクのフリフリのドレスを作ったのは、実に久しぶりです。いつもは、どちらかというとシックな色合いを選びがちですが、はっきり言って楽しかったです!　ピンク色、と言うだけでなんだかウキウキするとでも言うのでしょうか。　これからはもっとピンクのドレスを作ってみたいです。　さて、ドレスの上部を作った後、ウエストから下にはちょっと凝ったデザインを使ってみようかなと思い、いろいろ試作品を作ってみたのですが。。。（試作品制作にかなりの日にちを費やしていたにもかかわらず）結局このありきたりなデザインに落ち着いてしまいました。やっぱり、このデザインが一番Bru嬢に似合っていたからです。ごてごてのデザインでは、ドレスだけが妙に浮き立ってしまってダメでした。

I still have to make two hats to go with each dresses and corset and shoes for this tiny bebe. I am hoping to finish her in early August. We will see!

この後は、それぞれのドレスに合うボネの制作と、コルセット、靴を作って出来上がりです。8月上旬にはお披露目できると思います。お楽しみに!

Exploring different designs with pink silk fabric on little Bru Jne 4.                        Surprisingly she looks very nice with pink color. It’s been a while since I used pink fabric for my Bru and I am having lots of fun making girly dress.

ピンク色のシルク地で、いろんなデザインを試している最中です。　　　　　　　　　　　このBru嬢は、意外とピンクが似合っていて嬉しい驚きです。ピンクを使うのは久しぶりなので、ちょっとワクワクしています。

Reno was having record breaking heat for all week last week. Where I live usually doesn’t get very hot during summer and we don’t have AC in our house. It was very uncomfortable when outside temp reached over 100 degrees and I could not get on dress making because I didn’t feel like using iron during such heat.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 Fortunately heat wave finally left us and I was able to use iron to finish the dress.

先週は西海岸で地域で記録的な暑さが一週間続きました。私が住んでいる地域は普段はそれほど暑くならないので、エアコンはありません。でもさすがに気温が40度近くまで上がると、もうじっとしているか水に入るか以外する気になれません。なので、とてもドレスを作るためにアイロンを使えるような環境ではなかったです。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　2，3日前からやっと気温が普通に戻って、ドレスを仕上げることができました。

I was planning to use silver threaded flower trim for accent but turned out it makes dress look too busy so I decided to use antique buttons instead. I also did not use complicated patterns for the front panel because it looks too busy and destructing. It would look great on larger size dress but I tend to like smaller size dress with simple design.                            I will be making one more dress for my 14 inch Bru and I think I am going to use pink next!

予定では銀糸のアクセントトリムを使うつもりでしたが、ドレスに合わせてみたところゴテゴテしてうるさい感じなので、シンプルなアンテイークのボタンをつけました。フロントパネルのデザインも、今回は凝ったものではなくシンプルにまとめました。大きい娘のドレスには凝ったパターンが合いますが、小さいサイズのドレスにはかえってうるさく感じられるので、使わないようにしています。さて次はお着替えのドレスに取り掛かります。生地はピンクで作ってみようと思います。お楽しみに!

Here is a peek of the dress I am working on right now.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　ドレスの進行状況、ちょっとだけお見せします。

Instead of using lace trim at the edge of the collar, I decided to use raffled antique silk chiffon.I am planning to use this trim for sleeve cuff. 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　I like the look and texture of aged chiffon or organdy. 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　襟のトリムにレースを使う代わりに、アンテイークのシルクシフォン生地で作ったフリルをあしらってみました。袖の飾りにもこれを使う予定です。古びた感じのシフォンとか、オーガンジーの風合いがとても好きです。

Finally! I picked design and materials I will be using for my little  Bru Jne 4.                           I always have trouble deciding whether to make traditional style Bru dress or to go with non-traditional design. The answer I came up with is ” I will make both!” .                       Yup, I will be making two dresses for her. She will also have a trunk to store all her trousseau neatly. How exciting!                                                                                          The first dress I will be working on is a traditional low waist dress in aqua blue and ecru antique silk.

やっとBru嬢のドレスの素材が決まりました。デザインいついては、いつもトラディショナルな物にするか、たまには違った趣向の物にするか迷うのですが、今回もやっぱり二着作ります!（やっぱり両方着せたいので）　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　そして、お支度品をちゃんと収納するトランクも作ります!　(気合入ってます）　　　　　　一着目はまず、トラディショナルなローウエイストのBruドレスで行くことにしました。使う素材はアクアブルーとエクリュのアンテイークシルクです。

Then I like to use this silver thread antique metallic trim as an accent. This trim is very unusual. It has tiny metallic silver roses and I just love this kind of tasteful little things.

アクセントトリムには、このメタル　(たぶん銀糸?)　の糸で作られたトリムを使ってみたいと思います。メタルっぽい小さな薔薇がところどころに入っていて、私はこういう渋い小物に心臓をギュ～っとつかまれてしまうタイプです。

Also I recently acquired this powder blue antique silk ribbon in large quantity.This type of silk ribbon is very hard to find. I was lucky enough to find them in many yards. I would love to use this in her dress or bonnet somehow.

最近この素敵なアンテイークのシルクリボンも手に入りました。このタイプのリボンはとても手に入りにくく、しかもパウダーブルーと言うだけでも珍しいのに、なんと大量に(6メートル弱）も手に入ったのです。ぜひぜひ、ドレスかボネに使ってみたいと思います。

I have not decided detail of the second dress yet. I want to use either pink or red silk but I will wait till my mind or the doll tells me which one to use. I will keep you posted!

二着目はどんな色にするかまだ決定していません。ピンクか赤を使いたいのですが、まずは一着目を作りながら時間をかけて決めたいと思います。

I am still working on the dress for little Bru Jne 4 and seem overloading my brain a bit too much.  In order to give my mind a break, I decided to play with my dolls that I have in my collection.

まだBru Jne4号のドレス制作中なのですが、かなり煮詰まってしまったので、息抜きに手持ちのお人形でちょっと遊んでみることにしました。

I made this 29 inch Bru Jne 14 head back in 2009 and kept her as a part of my collection.   I was painting bisque very pale that time so she also has pale skin.                                       I happen to acquire large antique eyes recently perfect for this head and decide to make her skin pinker to give more antique look.

この29インチのBruJne14号ヘッドは2009年に作ったものです。当時はビスクをとても色白に絵付けしていたので、この娘も例外なくかなり色白です。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　最近大きめのアンテイークアイを入手したので、もっとアンテイークっぽくなるようビスクの色をピンク色に塗ってみることにしました。

I also gave her antique blonde wig to complete vintage look. I now feel like I just got a new doll ! She looks very different and I really like her new look. Which looks do you like better?

ビンテージの雰囲気をさらに引き立たせるよう、アンテイークの人毛ウィッグに換えました。　以前と比べて雰囲気ががらりと変わってしまい、まるで新しい娘をお迎えしたようです。　　私は毎年好みが変わっていくようなので、この新しい雰囲気が今はとても好きです。　　　皆さんはどちらがお好みですか？
