Hi everyone.  I truly appreciate for overwhelming number of people applied to purchase Miss Diva. I wish I could make the same doll for each one of you ….                                     Well, I had to pick one person to take her home and the winner has been announced this morning. I emailed the winner already so if you did not get email from me by now, unfortunately Miss Diva did not pick you.

Again, I truly appreciate for everyone who gave me lovely email to tell me how much they wanted the doll. It really touched me.                                                                                       I was not going to work on new doll till next year but I may be able to list Bru head #1 (remember?) with a body but no dress for sale before Christmas. Maybe I can give one more person a happy Christmas … ??? We will see …

皆さんこんにちは。新作Bru嬢の抽選にたくさんのご応募を頂き、たいへんありがとうございました。できれば全員に一体づつ差し上げたいのですが、残念なことに当選者を一人だけ選ばなければなりませんでした。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 抽選は今朝行われ、当選者の方にはすでにお知らせのメールが入っています。もし現在までに私からのメールが来てなければ、残念ながらBru嬢は他の方の元へお嫁に行くことになりました。

本当にたくさんの方から、どれだけ彼女をお迎えしたいか、その想いをつづられたメールをいただきました。ありがとうございます。作家冥利に尽きます。　　　　　　　　　　　　　実は来年になるまで製作には入らない予定でしたが、もしかしたらヘッド試作品一号のボデイー付ドレス無しをクリスマス前に出品できるかもしれません。いまがんばってボデイーを作っています。上手くいけば、もう一人の方に素敵なクリスマスプレゼントを贈ることができるかもしれません。。。クリスマス前に間に合うかどうかはちょっとわかりませんが、ブログでまたお知らせいたします。

Long waited eyelet pliers came today and I finished my corset finally!                                   I used antique silver silk fabric for outside and heavy antique cotton for inside. 　　　　　Of course it has tiny bones just like human size corset.

アイレットセッターが今日やっと届いたので、さっそくコルセットの仕上げにかかりました。　　表に使った生地はアンテイークのシルバーカラーのシルクで、内側は厚手のアンテイークコットンです。もちろんリアルサイズのコルセットと同じく、小さいボーンも入っています。
All lace trims and silk ribbon are also antique…                                                                    デコレーションに使ったレースやリボンもすべてアンテイークです。

I am letting little Miss Diva to be a model for her underwear.                                                Bru 嬢に下着のモデルをやっていただきました。

She is wearing petticoat and combinations made from antique cotton batiste and antique cotton lace. There are antique shell buttons at the back.

コルセットの下には、アンテイークのコットンバテイーストとアンテイークレースでできたコンビネーションとペチコートをつけています。後ろにはアンテイークの貝殻でできたボタンがついています。

She is also wearing bustle pad underneath of petticoat.                                                       その下にはさらに、スカートのふくらみを出すためのバッスルパッドがついています。

Now the doll is finally completed!!!!                                                                                         I am working on to add her on catalog of my website and making one more surprise to make this doll extra special.  I will reveal it when she becomes available. I am hoping to put her for sale sometime late next week. I will post detail of how she will be sold and photos of finished product in my next blog entry.  Thank you everyone for waiting so long for this doll to be completed. I hope all of you enjoyed seeing each steps of how I make my dolls.

これでついに、Bru嬢が完成しました！（長かった～）　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　今現在、この娘をHPのカタログに載せる作業中です。それともうひとつ、この娘のためにスペシャルなおまけも作っています。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　できれば来週の末ぐらいには販売したいのですが、それも作業の経過しだいです。次回のブログで完成品の画像のお披露目と、販売方法などを載せますのでお楽しみに～。　　　　長らくお付き合いくださり、本当にありがとうございました。私の作品製作過程もお楽しみいただけたでしょうか。。。

I finished underwear but still working on corset. I forgot that I needed new eyelet pliers to set eyelet at the back of corset so I am waiting for my pliers to be delivered.               Meanwhile I decided to take photos of Miss Diva today. Photo shooting is always time consuming. It often takes half day or more depends on the lighting situation. Miss Diva has two dresses and lighting setting changes by the color of the dress. I ended up taking her photos for more than 6 hours and hundreds of pictures. Picking one right picture from few hundreds is also time consuming. Some dolls are very photogenic and I don’t need to take very many. Some dolls are almost impossible to get correct color or facial expressions. Miss Diva was one of the difficult one…. ( yes, I knew it)

************************************************************************************************下着は出来上がったのですが、コルセットがまだです。と言うのは、後ろの穴のアイレットを留める器具を買い忘れていたのでした。:-( 　　というわけで、現在待ち状態。　　　　　とりあえず、今日は撮影をすることにしました。撮影には光の状態によって半日、もしくはそれ以上かかるので、できるときにしておかなければ。しかも、このBru嬢はお着替えを持っていらっしゃるので、ライトのセッテイングのテマヒマも二倍!?　結局6時間以上、何百枚も撮るハメに。お人形によっては、写真写りが良くて簡単に出来上がる娘から、どこでどうやって撮っても実物に近い色や表情が出なかったりとさまざまです。ミスディーバ嬢は、やっぱりむずかしいタイプでした。（知ってたんですけどね）

I finished bonnet and we had first snow fall this year!                                                             It was beginning of summer when I started making this doll. It’s amazing how fast time flies by. But it must be frustrating for all of you looking forward to see the finished product.    I appreciate for being patients and hey, I was able to relax little bit this summer doing things I have not been able to do for a long time.

ボネットが出来上がりました。そして今日は初雪が降りました。　　　　　　　　　　　　作品を作り始めたときは夏の始めだったのに、時がたつのはほんとうに早いものです。　　作品の完成を心待ちにしている皆さんにとっては、きっと歯がゆい4ヶ月だったと思います。　でもおかげさまで、この夏はちょっとリラックスしていろんなことを体験することができました。

I am posting photos of bonnet making from where I left last time.                                           I placed antique cotton batting inside the bonnet cap.

さて、前回の続きのボネット製作の画像を載せたいと思います。　まずは、キャップの内側にアンテイークの綿を敷きました。

Cover batting with antique silk lining fabric.                                                                            それからアンテイークのシルクの裏地を縫い付けます。

Applied antique crochet 3D rosette at the tip of the cap and decorate with antique crochet lace.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　キャップの先端にアンテイーククロシェットの立体ロゼットを取り付けて、その周りをクロシェットのレースで飾り付けました。

I added more silk chiffon trim and placed antique silk ribbon at front top to give volume.

トップにはもっとたくさんのシフォンのくしゅくしゅをつけて、アンテイークのシルクリボンやベルベットフラワーでさらに飾りつけ。。。前から見るとこんな感じになりました。

 Also added antique millinery flowers and crochet trim at the side and the back bottom ..   クロシェットのトリムをサイドト後ろの襟足部分に付けました。

The dress and bonnet are now completed but I still have to make under garments. It’s my bad habit to save underwear making till the last moment. 🙁                                                  I am actually working on corset now. I will post photos of corset in next entry.                    To be continued …

さて、これでドレスとボネは完成しました。でもまだ、下着作りが待っています。私の悪い癖で、下着製作を最後の最後までとっておくんですよ。（しょぼーん）　　　　　　　　　　いまコルセットに取り掛かっているところです。コルセットが出来上がったら、また続きをアップしますのでおたのしみに。。。。

このお客様は14インチの私のBruJne4を2009年に買ってくださったのですが、その後ドイツのアネッテさんにオーダーしてこのプレゼンテイションボックスを作っていただいたそうです。　　私もアネッテさんの仕事を尊敬する一人ですが、このボックスセットはほんとにため息が出るほど素晴らしいですね。。。う～～ん、さすが。

I made cap part of the bonnet the other day so next step is making decoration.　　　　　先日ボネットのキャップの部分を作ったので、今度は飾り部分の製作です。

I used this even more light weighted antique silk chiffon to make frills at front edge.　　　ボネットフロント周りにつけるフリルを、このさらにうす～いアンテイークのシルクシフォンで作ります。

Hand stitch three layers of tuck without making crease with iron.                                        アイロンで折り目をつけず、目分量でタックを三段ぐらいひたすら手縫いします。

Make frills by pulling thread…                                                                                                  横糸を引いて、くしゅくしゅのフリルを作りました。

I also want to use this antique crochet trim as a decoration but it looks boring if I apply just like this …..　　                                                                                                                      このアンテイークのクロシェットトリムも飾りに使いたいのですが、このままではつまらないので。。。

Gather the edge and iron to shape like this…… Much better!　　　　　　　　　　　　   ギャザーを寄せてアイロンをかけて。。。なんだか良い感じです。

Still more decorations to add. I have to take time to place them in right balance.　　　　　まだまだつけたい飾りはあるのですが、あせらず時間をかけてバランスよく仕上げたいと思います。

My husband and I climbed to the top of Mt.Tallac by Lake Tahoe on Sunday. I was going to enjoy this beautiful fall day by hiking as we often do. But I never took this trail to the top and did not realize it is rated ” DIFFICULT” …　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　日曜日に夫と共にレイクタホにあるマウントタラックへハイキングに出かけました。この素晴らしい秋晴れの日を、いつものハイキングのようにエンジョイする予定だったのですが。。。

It was brutal to hike up to elevation almost 10000 ft and walk 10 miles round trip!    　　　  I could even see mountain range with Glacier.              　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 標高ほとんど3000ｍの頂点まで往復16kmの道のりは、難度の高いトレイルと後で知りました。頂上近くには、なんと氷河のある山脈まで！View from the top of Mt.Tallac. What a gorgeous view! ( but I barely made there)              やっとの思いでたどりついた頂上からの眺めです。まさに絶景！（しかし足腰はボロボロ）

Spend all day making a bonnet for my little Diva.  I am using this ultra light weight ecru antique silk batiste taken from antique blouse. **********************************************************************************************　今日は一日中ボネット製作に取り組んでいました。使う生地は、アンテイークのブラウスから取ったシルクバティーストです。羽衣のように軽い生地です。I can’t use sewing machine for such delicate fabric so I have to keep hand stitching many rows of 24 inch wide fabric …. *************************************************************************************************こんなに薄い生地にはミシンは使えないので、ひたすら手縫いです。。Many hours later, I can finally pull strings to shrink 24 inch wide fabric to 8 inches wide ruffled fabric. *************************************************************************************************数時間後、やっと横糸を引いて60センチ幅の生地を20センチ幅のギャザーに変身させることができました。

This part will be the cap of the bonnet.                                                                                       この部分がキャップになります。

Sew back of the cap to make it look neat…                                                                             後ろの中心部を縫って形を整えます。

This tiny acupuncture patch has a tiny needle and I place this directly on my skin and leave it for few days. It seem working for me since pain is reduced few days later.

円皮針の内側には小さい鍼がついていて、これを痛む箇所に直接貼って何日か貼ったままにしておきます。すると数日後には痛みが和らいでいます。サロンパスはスーパーで買えるんですが、円皮針は去年日本へ行ったときに買ってきました。後で調べたら、こちらでもオンラインでオーダーできそうです。

I am having long day-offs this week so I finally finished the blue dress for my little Diva. Here are photos of the dress with more details! *************************************************************************************************やっと今週比較的長いお休みが取れたので、さっそくブルーのドレスを完成させました。The fabric I used is light weight antique blue silk taffeta. It has very crisp texture.       Backing fabric is also antique but it’s brown polished cotton.  I decided to use only antique Point-de-Gaze lace for this dress. They are often used as collar because of their beautiful patterns and unique texture. I just love this kind of antique lace! I am always looking for more Point-de-Gaze lace but they are hard to come by just like small antique buttons.        My little Diva looks very pretty with this blue dress. She does look more like a little princess from 1870’s. (Sorry, no photos of her this time)                                                                   Now I must go on to make a bonnet to finish up her complete ” princess look”….. *************************************************************************************************このドレスに使った生地は、アンテイークの薄手のシルクタフタです。タフタなので、張りのあるシャリ感ある手触りです。裏地もアンテイークですが、ブラウンのコットンです。　　　　　今回はPoint-de-Gazeという種類のアンテイークレースのみで飾り付けました。このタイプのレースは、その美しいパターンと独特の質感からドレスの襟などに良く使われています。　　私はこのタイプのレースがとても好きで、好んで集めているのですが、アンテイークの小さいボタン同様なかなか手に入りにくいのが難です。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　このブルーのドレスは、1870年代の小さいお姫さまみたいに見えてＢｒｕ嬢によく似合っています。（画像は後のお楽しみ）　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　さて、次はお姫様ルックを完成させるためにボネットに取り掛かります。

Sorry… I didn’t have much time to work on dolls lately.  I will post just few photos of the blue dress I have made so far.                    *************************************************************************************************最近ドール製作する時間があまり取れなくて、ブルーのドレスはあまり進んでいません。まだかなり途中なのですが、ちょっとだけ画像を貼っておきます。

I ended up not using lace I was going to use. Instead I used this lace because of its beautiful shape when I placed around her shoulder …..  *************************************************************************************************前回使おうかな、と画像を載せたレースは結局使いませんでした。代わりにこのレースを使いました。肩に掛けたときにきれいなラインがでるので。。。

I am thinking to place beads on her shoulders as an accent. I don’t like too much bling on my dolls but she is a little Diva, maybe she needs some bling ?? *************************************************************************************************肩の辺りにビーズの飾りをつけようかと検討中。　じゃらじゃらごてごてした飾りはあまり好きではないのですが、彼女はわがままなリトルディーバなので、少しはひかりものを付けてあげたほうがいいのでしょうか？？？
